2004-01-09 Local school announcing  fees. This school receives no Government assistance and is therefore in fact a private school, run by the Railway Company which owns most of the buildings in the village. The school's fees are actually lower than most other schools in Zhaoqing.  Migrant children (whose families are usually very poor) pay higher fees than local children (whose families are usually well off). "It's not a case of migrant children paying more, but rather local children being given a discount" is the official explanation.
