(outside CAS West gate, in front of mountain)
Some 30 people (men, women and children) are living literally on the side of the mountain behind CAS, logging trees (a job done every 10 years). Three weeks ago Jimmy was born in a tent (mountain-bred like the Man from Snowy River)....parents too poor to afford doctor/hospital... Jimmy has one side of his head/face badly reddened by a blood disease (...not uncommon in these parts...not sure of technical name...).
Doctor says 5% chance redness will go away...otherwise baby will need some sort of radiation treatment in a few years time.
